Biography of Pavel Kukhta

Pavel Kukhta was born in Grodno (Belarus), where he got his first music education. Having graduated from the Academy of Music in Minsk (Belarus) he entered the Master Course (prof. E. Gridushko). He also played in master-classes for famous guitarists such as Pepe Romero, David Russel, Hubert Kappel, Marco Tamayo Diaz, Oscar Ghiglia, Elena Papandreo and others.

From 2002 Pavel has an active concert performance life; he played concerts in Austria, Czech, Hungry, Lithuania, Poland, Russia, Slovakia, etc.

Also Pavel is a laureate of a number of international guitar competitions, among them third prizes in the 2002 International Biennial Guitar Competition Kutna Hora (second category) in Czech Republic; in the 2009 International Competition of Guitarists in Ukraine; in the 2010 International Guitar Festival in Belgrade, Serbia; the second prizes and audience prize in the 2009 International Guitar Competition in France (Homage a L. Brouwer); The First A. Frauchi International Guitar Competition in Moscow, Russia; and first prizes in the 2004 C. Drozdziewicz International Guitar Competition in Krynica, Poland; in the 2007 International Guitar Competition in Saint-Petersburg, Russia; D. Duarte Guitar Competition in Rust, Austria (1 place and special prize of J. Duarte).

At present Pavel Kukhta is a soloist of Belarusian State Philharmonic.
